Alexandria Residence

Prior to forming Menassa Architecture in 2014, Jennifer Kirwan worked at Cox Graae + Spack Architects in Georgetown for nearly 10 years. During this time, among other projects, Jennifer served as Project Architect for this award winning Alexandria residence.
This project began as a renovation of an existing bungalow located along the Potomac River and culminated in a nearly complete and total rebuild and redesign. The design concept was that of a modern farmhouse on a spectacular site. Exterior materials include natural stone, mahogany siding, steel details at the entry and railings, custom contemporary mahogany windows and doors, and a standing seam metal roof. Interior detailing includes stained bamboo flooring, heated stained concrete floors, mahogany trim, decorative beams, and custom built-in cabinetry throughout the residence.
